Summary
"Created by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC)
We are pleased to present this in-person workshop led by Jose Luís Trejo and organised and introduced by Nazareth Castellanos. This three-part session includes:
A science-based yet accessible session explaining why it is essential to move beyond a sedentary lifestyle. We will explore how physical exercise acts as one of the most effective lifestyle interventions to: delay cognitive decline, enhance cognitive performance, act as a natural antidepressant and anxiolytic, and improve overall quality of life.
Participants will engage in a set of anonymised physical and written assessments designed to measure their current level of physical activity. These will be analysed by the workshop facilitators to assess general trends within the group.
The session will conclude with practical guidance on optimal levels of physical activity and training. There will also be a live demonstration of exercise techniques and heart rate monitoring.
Please note: This workshop is open to the general public, with the exception of:
Individuals with physical or mental disabilities.
Individuals with morbid obesity
Individuals recovering from recent injuries or with impaired mobility.
Children over 12 years of age
