Bio

Gemma Bes

After 20 years of experience, I have observed that a good nutritional guideline helps people improve their quality of life and prevent diseases.

I have a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from CESNID (University of Barcelona), a degree in Nutrition from Kin's College London, a postgraduate degree in Sports Nutrition and PNIE (Psychoneuroimmunoendocrinology) from the University of Barcelona, and a diploma in Ayurvedic Nutrition, energetic cooking and Naturopathy. I have a course in Sport Nutrition at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts in New York and I am co-owner of Ametlla + de Mallorca in Artà.

Nutrition is a very new science and those of us who dedicate ourselves to it must continually research, train and compare information with the oldest medicines (Chinese, Ayurvedic and Tibetan). Hence my constant trips to the Asian continent, where I try to absorb the most ancient knowledge.

My curiosity and passion for nutrition have led me to write the books "Ayúdame a crecer sano" (Help me grow healthy) and "Vivir sin gluten" (Living gluten-free). I have collaborated with various local and national magazines and television programs, such as "La botica de la abuela" (Grandma's pharmacy).

I currently advise elite athletes and companies. I have my office at the Juaneda Clinic in Palma and I am the nutritionist at the Rafa Nadal Academy and Juaneda Sport Health in Manacor. Since September 2016, we have organized an Integrative Nutrition department together with Estrella Alba. The two of us form a dynamic team with a multitude of projects and dreams that you can see at nutreatude.com
